Al Tayer Group and Cinépolis, the largest cinema exhibitor in Latin America and the fourth largest cinema exhibitor in the world, have created a joint venture headquartered in Dubai to build and operate cinemas across the GCC region.

This venture, initiated in 2018, introduced the Gulf audience to Cinépolis' world-class cinema-going experience - high-touch theatre concepts, including Luxury, Premium, Macro XE, 4D E-motion technology, and kid-approved Cinépolis Junior auditoriums. The first movie theatres were opened in Bahrain and in Sohar, Oman.

Over the next five years, the venture will expand in the UAE, Oman, and Bahrain, where it plans to become a leading player in the movie theatres industry and bring the best movie-going experience to customers.

In Saudi Arabia, Al Tayer Group and Cinépolis have partnered with Al Hokair Group, a leading hospitality and entertainment operator in the MENA region, to set up movie theatres in 15 major cities across the country.

Across the region, Cinépolis Gulf is on track to deliver 450 screens.
