AL TAYER INSIGNIA PARTNERS WITH "BEACON OF HOPE" FOR A RETAIL-WIDE CHARITY INITIATIVE DURING RAMADAN

Al Tayer Insignia, the retail business of Al Tayer Group, announces it's collaboration with Beacon of Hope UAE, a charity founded by Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan with the aim of providing light and hope to children in impoverished and war-torn countries through the delivery and assembly of a solar light kit, or 'beacon in a box'.

The charitable campaign will run over the Ramadan period across all UAE-based Al Tayer bricks and mortar stores as well as the online business of Gap and Mamas and Papas. Customers will be invited to make donations in stores or online through the group's various social media platforms, and through the donation of points awarded under the Amber loyalty program, without the obligation to make any purchase. The campaign will launch across all retail outlets on May 9th, 2018, with a special event held at Bloomingdale's in The Dubai Mall, and will run through Ramadan and wrap up by end of Eid Al Fitr.

"Unity and giving are part of the spirit of Ramadan. We are delighted to have the support of Al Tayer Insignia and look forward to providing our lessons in a box to schools in impoverished areas," said Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Founder of Beacon of Hope.

"We are very happy to partner with Beacon of Hope this Ramadan, an outstanding initiative which aligns with our Company's CSR purpose, a commitment to working with causes and charities that support the access to and quality of education, well-being and future opportunities for children in the community and beyond," said Khalid Al Tayer, CEO Al Tayer Insignia.

"Working with children in the countries we visit has been the highlight of my experience with Beacon of Hope. There's an unexplainable joy in seeing a smile light up a child's face after they have successfully assembled their light. We aim to spread hope, one light and one educated child at a time," said Sarah Saeed Bawazir, Board Member of Beacon of Hope.

In addition to donating towards the cost of sending the solar-light kits, customers will also be invited to craft and send messages of hope to a child in need through message cards available in stores or digitally through the various online platforms of Al Tayer's retail brands and the Amber program.

About Beacon of Hope UAE
The charity was set up in March 2016, under the patronage of Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, granddaughter of HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. They have worked with young engineering students at Khalifa University to develop a simple-to-assemble solar-light kit, or 'beacon-in-a-box', which are delivered to children in war-torn or impoverished areas of the world. There, the children are taught to assemble their own light, which not only gives the youth a lesson in the science and physics of solar-light, but leaves them with a sense of accomplishment at having created it themselves. The 'beacon-in-a-box' solar-lights have more than the power to illuminate the night, they have the power to illuminate the mind. Beacon of Hope is providing opportunity and hope, one light...and one child, at a time.

To date they have impacted thousands of children in need in Liberia, rural Morocco, Djibouti, Zanzibar, Yemen, Somalia, Puerto Rico and the refugee camps in both Jordan and Iraq. Through education they aim to create a way forward for the children living in these challenged regions, and spur not only a curiosity for learning, but also aspire to light the fire of hope in each of these young minds.
